Haupia Hand Pies

Decided to try making something different today . . . maybe I am holding onto summer with the tropical sounding dessert. Haupia is a traditional dessert served at luauas and weddings in Hawaii. It's basically like a coconut pudding.
I made a homemade filling and a homemade pie crust and topped mine with an egg wash and some granulated sugar. They were good . . . maybe not a favorite. Though I am anxious to try them when they are totally cooled and see. I couldn't wait that long, had to taste!
