http://simplepleasuresinfood.blogspot.com/
I have started another blog with a small portion of catering jobs and foods that I often make for catering jobs. Unfortunately, I have to learn to find the time when I'm catering to take more pictures! I've done some jobs that I'm really, really pleased with, but generally am too busy to photograph the events.
So, here's a blog with more "savory" foods as well as some bakery.

Ooh~La~La~Gooey~Butter~Cake
When we visited Paula Deen's restaurant in Savannah, I had this great, simple dessert. It was delicious. I think they served it with a bit of whipped cream or ice cream.
It's easy as 1-2-3 to make and oh so yummy! In a bind with unexpected guests and wanting to serve something with coffee? This is the ticket, and most people have the simple ingredients around the house. I will say that it should be eaten in moderation for those watching their waistlines ~ lots of delicious things that make it taste so good. Butter, eggs, sugar and cream cheese. Oh how can you go wrong? Enjoy!
Gooey Butter Cake
1 Package of yellow cake mix
1 egg
8 tablespoons melted butter
Mix the above ingredients and pat into a lightly greased 9 x 13" pan. Prepare the following:
8 ounces of cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
8 tablespoons melted butter
16 ounces powdered sugar
Mix all thoroughly with electric mixer and spread over cake mixture in pan. Bake in pre-heated 350 degree oven for 40-50 minutes. Do not over bake, as the center should be slightly gooey. (Get it ~ Gooey Butter Cake!)

Scotch Kisses
I was making batch upon batch of Scotch Kisses before Christmas, and realized that I have been making them since I was about 17 years old. And you don't get tired of them! They are definitely a family favorite and have become a favorite among many of our friends and acquaintances as well. Everyone always looks forward to them, and though they are a lot of work, they are worth every minute of it!
